How do you measure your items?

Vintage sizing can be hard to assess and sizes change from, item to item, country to country and era to era.  We ask all our customers to “double check” there measurements as precisely as possible because we don’t want you to be disappointed when you receive your item.

We will always mention the size in the “description” of each item, if the item is labelled. Eg: small, medium, large or 8, 10, 12. This sizing should be accepted as a guide only and not as a precise measurement.

All measurements are arrived at by lying the item flat and all measurements are in centimetres only.

We measure:

  • Arm Length
  • Shoulder Width
  • Bust
  • Chest
  • Waist
  • Hips
  • Leg Length

How do I find out what Fabric my Garment is made of?

We will always attempt to describe the garment’s fabric type. This will be assessed from label information, attached to the garment, or we will attempt to discern its type based on our experience. Most vintage items, because of their age, may have lost their tag and so we attempt to provide the best possible description that is available to us.
